Inspection, Testing & Maintenance
Monthly/Quarterly Inspections
- Visual inspection of hood, filters, duct access points, and exhaust fan condition
- Verify filters are present, properly seated, and not damaged
- Check for grease accumulation, corrosion, loose fasteners, and missing access panels
- Confirm hood lighting and make-up air components are operating (as applicable)
- Review service tags/labels and verify cleaning intervals are being maintained
Annual Testing
- Confirm exhaust fan operation and airflow pathway (visual/operational verification)
- Verify duct and hood system accessibility for cleaning and inspection
- Inspect fusible links and related hardware for correct placement and condition (as applicable)
- Verify system documentation, placards, and required postings are present and legible
- Coordinate functional testing of associated fire suppression system components when applicable
